Some observations from life's experiences:
- Knowledge: Knowledge accumulates well if you keep doing one thing for a long time. If you keep trying different things, you will still accumulate knowledge. But it will be shallow. Life needs both types of knowledge. First method is fruitful when you know what direction you want to go in life. The second method is useful when you are trying to figure out your life's direction. The first method results in deep satisfaction. The second method results in bitter-sweet experiences.
- Comfort: A strange thing happens when you remove some comforts from your life. In the beginning, you will feel deprived. And the entire experience seems hard. As you go on, you realize that the very comforts you had in life are uncomfortable. Persist for more time and good habits will form. Be uncomfortable from time to time. It has serious rewards.
- Different: Train yourself to read and listen to extreme variance in points of view. Some of the world's best investors call this multi-disciplinary thinking. Use one unrelated discipline to solve problems in another discipline. It is hard. But this is what puts you at extreme odds of massive success.
- Moment: Be in the moment most of the time. It does not matter if you are the busiest startup founder or top corporate executive or a head of state. By doing so, you will enjoy the tiny pleasures of daily life. And your mind will stay light and think better. Not being in the moment is like a plane flying half-empty. Don't do that to your life. You will be the only one to regret it later. Build your life with zero regrets.
