Some observations from life's experiences:
- Suffering: Many times some of us endure suffering as part of a larger goal. If suffering lasts long or repeats often, you might be doing something wrong. Tweak your methods and refocus the lost energy back towards the larger goal. Do not assume prolonged suffering for progress. And yes, talking to a trusted set of folks also helps.
- Paper: Writing and sketching your thoughts on paper is powerful. In today's digital world, most of us either ignore it or do not see value in doing so. It is a simple and low-cost way to plan outside of the chaos. Try it. And as a side effect, you might also appreciate the co-existence of analog with the digital world.
- Networking: Networking is a serious effort. Reaching out, meeting people, preparing for meetings, follow-ups. It adds up and does cause a drain on our energy. If you are in a profession wherein you need to network, it is good to figure out an easier way to network. If it is easy, you will do it often and be happy. And the results in your profession will also get better.
- Wrong: It is okay to be wrong about tiny things. Help from the friendlies can help course-correct real quick. But being wrong about major things is expensive. Most people try to be right about small things and end up staying average. Reverse your priorities and life transforms for good.
