Some observations from life's experiences:
- Uprooting: When something is not broken, why break it? This holds most of the time. But few times during our lifetime, the boldest take the call to uproot a well-running life. They do it for something better than what they have now. It causes short-term pain and losses. Recovery and re-settling periods are also involved. And then a better future awaits. To do this, one needs to recognize the opportunity and have the guts to take the call.
- Theory: Do you wish to create a significant gap between yourself and the rest? Then train your mind to build original theories. Almost everyone is on the constant lookout for the final answer or the solution. They do not want to put thought into how that solution came about. As you start building out your theories, you will notice a few frustrating things. Theories will start as abstract. Or stay incomplete for some time. It is okay because it gets better. In most cases, the exact path is not needed. Direction is more than good enough. Once you are traveling in the right direction, you will create your passage.
- Socialize: Even if you are an introvert or super shy, do socialize a little bit. Do it your way. Slow is fine. Infrequent is good. Erratic is not a problem. No one is judging you. It will help in ways unseen. Networks have serious intellectual property. And this intellectual property shows itself in different ways. Useful connections. Helpful advice. Tactical help. And so much more.
- Test: Try to develop easy ways to test people around you. Put them in different buckets. There is no formula or rock-solid method for doing this. Experiment and see what works for you.
